Look, one of my
secrets to creating a
successful website is to make it controversial!
It has to be a
little edgy to be worth talking about... a little crazy to get noticed.
In fact, some of my most successful projects ever (websites doing $50,000
a month! like my www.SalviaDragon.com) are very controversial, even to the
point of appearing on television.
And here's another one that is bound to
get some attention. Good or bad, it's all how you look at it!
It's called sniper-training.com and is
basically a military manual (which anyone can find for free) with a unique
and upbeat marketing appeal to it. It sells a package of manuals,
the US Army Sniper Training manual and the Army Field Rangers military
manual for $30 bucks. This website will not make you a million
dollars.
The biggest PLUS about this is that all
the ebook covers, the layout and the copywriting are 100% original and
this website does have pagerank. It's been LIVE and tested for about
a year now. Without even looking at it, or advertising it, it makes
a few sales every week which equates to a couple hundred bucks at the end
of every month.
Since this product is 100% downloadable,
and 100% free to distribute/sell/publish etc. it's a totally hands-free
operation. When someone purhcases the book, the "Thank You" email
contains their download information and everything is tracked and handeled
by the 1Automationwiz shoppping cart system.
This website is a true "set it and forget
it" hands free cash generating asset worth a couple hundred dollars a
month. And so when you purchase this website not only are you
purchasing a hands-free source of income, but also the prime search engine
placement, copywriting and master-images that come with it... along with a
couple dozen military training manuals and ebook covers we simply never
added to the website (but had plans of offering a "collection" of 24
military manuals on navy seals, cia, snipers, rangers, etc. on
www.commandoes.us).
The potential of this website lies in
getting some Google placement for it! While we've been successful in
getting ranked very well on Yahoo and MSN for the 'sniper training' and
'sniper videos' keywords - for some reason we are no where to be found on Google. Needless to say, it still earns money hands-free from the
great placement on the other two major engines. It's also possible
to test a cost-per-click model, however with my experience a low-cost
product like this is better if keep on an organic "free" marketing model.
